Angie Smith-Davis is an instruction at a Boys & Girls Club in New York with 85 students ranging from kindergarden to grade 5.
Our afternoon program is doing the theme of 40 Days Around the World. We thought it world be a good idea for the children to write to other children from other countries. Some of the places we are studying are: Egypt, Ghana, Argentina, and France. We look forward to hearing from your classes. I am the instructor in the Discovery Zone Area.

Hello, my class would like to learn other languages, especially Spanish. We would love to correspond with other children in Spanish speaking countries from around the world.

I am looking for classes in French speaking countries
who would like to correspond with my beginning French students. Presently my students are studying
the weather, seasons, hobbies, sports, school subjects, how to order in a
cafe, and
soon they will be learning how to describe themselves using adjectives, and also
family member vocabulary.
Amy Bowerman
is a grade 2 teacher at Allendale Elementary

She wishes for her students to correspond with other students from around the world.
It would be very exciting for the students to be pen pals with
children from other geographical regions. I believe that this would motivate them in their writing
and make geography more meaningful. We are beginning to study about
animals and it would be interesting to hear about the kinds of animals
that are commonly seen in other communities and/or countries.

She wishes for her students to correspond with other students in similar programs from around the world.
I have students in a vocational setting: culinary arts,
cosmetology, nursing assistant, graphic communications, auto technology,
auto body, construction technology, criminal justice. I would like to
see the students share with others in similar programs internationally.
Corey Mitchell
is a grade 6 teacher at Roxboro Road Middle School
in New York,
and he would like to correspond with students from countries in the Eastern Hemisphere.
We are completing country research reports in the Eastern
Hemisphere, which is the area of focus/study for 6th grade social
studies/history in New York State. Some students expressed how much fun
they had doing the research and so they wanted to correspond with the students and to learn more about each other.
Mrs. McLaughlin is a grade 9 teacher at Corunna High School
in Michigan,
and she would like for her classes to correspond with other classes in Spanish.
I have Spanish classes ranging from first year to fourth year. All
of them would like to have a pen pal. Their ages are between 14-17 years old.

and she would like for her class to correspond with a class from a Spanish speaking country.
I would like for my Spanish II classes to correspond with students
from a Spanish speaking country to better their skills in the Spanish language.
Tracy Hamblet is a grade 2 teacher at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School
in Florida,
and she would like for her class to correspond with another class to develop writing skills and to learn about cultures.
Just looking for another class for my students to communicate
with. We could work on writing skills while learning about other
countries or cultures.

and she would like for her class to correspond with a class from a Spanish speaking country.
I am a grades 4-6 Spanish teacher at Miami Montessori School. I would like for my class to correspond with another class from a Spanish speaking country, and my students could respond in either English or Spanish. My Spanish background is
Spanish from Spain.

and she would like for her class to correspond with a class from another country around the world, to help improve writing skills.
We are always looking for authentic ways of teaching writing.
Writing to children in other countries would be truly authentic and fun.
I also like to promote acceptance of other people, especially when they
are ethnically different than we are.
Andrea Withers is a grade 2 teacher at Fammatre Elementary School in California,
and she would like for her class to correspond with a class from another country around the world.
Throughout our school year together, my seven-year-olds learn
about countries around the world. Corresponding with your students
would make their learning so much more meaningful!
Betty Heard is a grade 3 teacher at Louisville Elementary in Nebraska,
and she would like for her class to correspond with another grade 3 class.
We would like pen pals from other third grade students in any
location. We live in a rural farming community.Our High School basketball team is going to the state play offs, so most of my class
loves basketball now. They also love other sports, computer time, and
art.
Ms. Yerkey is a grade 6 teacher at Memorial Middle School in Massachusetts,
and she would like for her class to correspond with another class from a different part of the world.
My 6th grade English Language Arts students would like pen pals from
other parts of the country or the world. You can write to one
class/section (20 students) or the entire 6th grade (all 100 students).
Maria Guerrero is a teacher of students aged
3-5 at School Readiness Preschool Elementary in California,
and she would like for her class to correspond with another preschool class.
We are a program that serves children aged 3-5 from families that are
new to the country, non-English speaking (mostly spanish). I am seeking
another preschool teacher wishing to correspond with preschoolers through
art, photos etc.
April Tennesen is a grade 2 teacher at Tanglewood Riverside School in Florida,
and she would like for her class the opportunity to learn about different parts of the U.S.A.
My inclusion class would like to practice letter writing and discuss
what it is like in other parts of the U.S.A, especially parts that
have pronounced seasonal changes.
Mrs. Harris is a grade 3 teacher at Faith Academy in Connecticut,
and she would like her students to improve upon writing skills and communication.
We have learned how to write letters correctly, so I thought that, not
only will it help them strengthen their skills, but it will be an assignment that
they will hopefully enjoy for the rest of their lives; with a new friendship!
Amy Ward is a grade 11 teacher at Vinton County High School in Ohio,
and she would like her students to correspond with pen pals from different cultures in order to learn about various foods and dishes.
These students are in an Eating Healthy course at Vinton County
High School. We would like pen pals who are of Jr. or Sr. status in order to explore multi-cultural
foods and prepare several labs from other cultures. As a connection in
writing this year, I wanted to try to get it set up for at least 48-50
students maximum. If I can only get 20, that is fine too. If you have

Traditions: what they eat, what they wear, when they celebrate it,
etc. We would like to hear about what other countries do first hand

I am a teacher at a junior
high in Tempe, AZ. We have been studying 4 countries as part of
a United Nations project, and I thought it would be nice if we
could get in contact with pen pals from some, or all, of these
countries.

I teach Spanish to students
between the ages of 11 and 14. We are looking to set up a pen pal
or epal exchange with classes in a Spanish speaking country, so
that all students can practice the language they're learning!

I am an elementary French
and Spanish teacher in Iowa, and I'm excited to set up class pen pals,
for my classes this school year, from French and Spanish speaking
countries around the world. I am teaching children from kindergarten
to the 5th grade. I have two k-2 classes and two 3-5 classes. We would
love to do projects, exchange pictures, cartoons, letters, and e-mails
with your classes; maybe we could even do a video! My kindergarten
2nd grade classes dont read or write Spanish, they just
speak and sing. They sing and dance and could draw posters and pictures
to send. My 3rd grade classes are starting to write and read French
and Spanish. So, we could write simple letters to one another and
send pictures, or do more complex projects. My students have been
learning about French and Spanish speaking countries and cultures,
and would be thrilled to make contact with real Spanish and French
speaking students their own ages. I hope that I can find some classes
who would like to meet some American students learning these languages.
