Step One

Let's draw Grandma!
- Head - Start by outlining
Grandma's head in a heart shape.
- Body - Her body is a large
circle with a smaller one up
and to the right of her body for her arm. At this point you might
want to outline the knife in her hand too.
- Hair - You can begin to
see her hair line by drawing in a few curved lines parallel to the
outline of her head.
Let's draw her grandson!
- Head - draw the head
as a large circle with two smaller and longer ovals underneath for
his arms.
- Body - just like Grandma,
draw a larger circle to outline his body. You can also see the top
of his leg behind the table which is a small circle just below his
body.
- Hair - draw wavey lines
above his head to show his spikey hair. Don't draw too many spikes
though, you can always add more detail later.
Let's draw the
pumpkin and the table!
-
Table - draw a large
rectangle with angled ends on the left and right. Underneath the
rectangle draw a line parallel to the bottom line and join it to
the bottom corners of the rectangle to make the table look three
dimensional.
-
Pumpkin - Draw an oval
in front of Grandma with a small rectangular stem at the top.
Step Two

Trace in some details!
- Pumpkin - start by outlining
features of the Jack-O-Lantern's face and don't forget to add some
curved lines running from the stem to the bottom.
- Grandson - draw a line
to show the outline of his hair over his face. A semi-circle (half
a circle) will be his mouth, draw it near the bottom of his head but
leave a bit of space for his chin. Next draw a small oval underneath
the boy's head and beside his arm as his hand.
- Grandma - outline Grandma's
face by drawing an egg shape inside the outline of her head.
Step Three

Keep going...you're almost
done!
- Trace around the lines
that you've already drawn, this way you'll be able to see the basic
forms of the figures before you add more details.
- Grandma - Draw two ovals
with smaller circles inside for her eyes. Then draw three curved lines
under her neck as an apron.
- Grandson - Draw his eyes
the same as Grandma's but the smaller circles inside should be off
to the left to make it appear as though he is watching his Grandma.
Step Four

Let's finish this lesson!
- Trace over any lines
that are not solid and your drawing will really take form.
- Dark Spaces - Pencil in
the pupils of the characters' eyes and mouths. Also the carved Jack-O-Lantern
should have its eyes, nose and mouth penciled in as well.
- Finishing Details - You
can be creative by adding in all sorts of details like a question
mark shape on the side of the boys head for his ear, curved lines
on Grandma's eyes for her eyelids and eyelashes.
Congratulations...you're
done!
